earBuzz Review:
Power's album, "Powerized", starts with their self-titled song "Power". The tune grabs the ear immediately as the band blends the R&B groove style made famous by Minneapolis artists with the vocals that have their origin a bit east in Philadelphia and Detroit. We hear influences that range from the Spinners to the Temptations with a solid push by Prince and the Time. Infectious. Track 3, "Listen to Your Heart", is a lesson in falsetto and full voice harmony blending - and the chorus hook climbs beautifully. Track 4, "Let Me Be Your Man", is the only rap tune on the record. The poetry spins by at record speed with a reggae background. Track 10, "I Want You", is our favorite on the record. The chorus has room to breathe with moving and harmonizing voices. The slow groover satisfies.
