Hurry Slowly is a unique title for any album, let alone an ambient record. It seems Homeless Balloon is not interested in dissections or classifications. Rather than continue the same electronic themed energy that maintained the flow of Electronova, Balloon gives us a more organic sound with Hurry Slowly. He's out to prove that he is a true composer of music, not mere sounds. "Harmony" is a wonderfully layered guitar-driven track. The vibe of the rhythms feel akin to the music you may hear at your local high end day spa (or least the one with the best taste in relaxing music). "Biker's Blues" sounds like a cut off the Hearts of Space catalog. It's dreamy and melodic, while maintaining a solid musical structure. "Fragile" is atmospheric and vast, but its melody is not complex. This way of creating spaciousness without big arrangements makes for easy listening. People utilize this type of music for many endeavors. Some seek it out for relaxation and focus, others as a backdrop to their daily activities. Whatever the occasion, Homeless Balloon seems equipped to provide a worthy soundtrack. MM
