I want everyone to walk away feeling good," he confesses – and believes, "There are pivotal songs in everyone's lives, songs that have special meaning and stay with you." earBuzz Review:
Sal Belloise gives his audience yet another glimpse into the life of a traveling singer/songwriter with Nothing But Love. "A Piece of Me" kicks the record off with a jam that sounds like a marriage of the Jerry Garcia Band and the Allman Brothers Band. He's got a splendid grasp of the harmonica as well (it's obvious he's been doing this a long time). "Wave of Life" turns things up a notch, and starts off with a funky, speedy guitar and bassline. The music is rhythmically reminiscent of Phish in their heyday. "Shake up the World" showcases a slightly poppier side of Belliose. His vocal delivery is more Crash Test Dummies than the Dead (more of a spoken word kinda vibe). The bounce of the chorus is catchier than his usual sound, and could lend itself easily to an audience sing-along. "I Got too High" is exactly what you would expect given the title; a cautionary tale of excess and self-examination. Belloise breaks out the sitar for "Crazy Planet"; a playful song written as a conversation with an alien (discussing the misuse and destruction of our natural resources). Belloise is a slice of Americana music on the road. MM
