Sonja Key has been an active spiritual leader since she was a child. She is currently the Worship Leader for the Tri-State Christian Center in north Georgia. Key has chosen music as her medium for which to communicate her messages of faith. The music is a reflection of her many experiences in attempting to uplift those she reaches. "Ascribe to You", the album's opener, is a song of both dedication and sacrifice in the name of her glorious God. The music here is guitar and keyboard driven, with an easy listening tonality and flow. "Take Me Deeper" speaks of the fascinating power behind the mystery of faith and prayer. "Steadfast in Love" tackles faithfulness in a different sense: Keeping faithful to your loved ones (domestic faithfulness) through your commitment to God. "Open Heavens" picks up the rhythmic tempo a little bit, but keeps to the musical theme throughout Mighty One: Mellow, unobtrusive music about faith and the uplifting messages inherent in spreading that faith.
