earBuzz Review:
Raymond Simmons' CD, "Hot Percussion Licks Part 1 and 2", is a 2-track record that features Simmons' percussion playing up front over the mix of a song called "Love and Happiness". The R&B Philly tune has a nice groove to it enhanced by terrific background vocals. Of course, the focus is on the percussion, as Simmons pops his way to a perpetual groove throughout. Simmons has performed percussion for years with several high profile artists. Nice stuff. We've only put up 30 second clips because putting up one entire song would be half the album.
