earBuzz Review:
Few music devotees would argue the importance of classical music and its influence on all current genres. The formulaic structure and arrangements have had the greatest impact on artists. Whether playing blues, rock-n-roll, electronic/dance music, or even a ditty for a television commercial, it does not take a trained ear to detect classical roots in all things musical today. The Synthonic Orchestra pays homage to this traditional form through modern interpretations. While preserving the original thematic structure of the compositions, they manage to put their own sonic stamp on the tracks by incorporating a number of differing tones through present technology. This enables the artists to attract both longtime classical fans as well as voyeurs. The emotive power of this music is palpable on Jesujoy, driven primarily by the incremental sounds of the organ, one of the most authoritative instruments. The title track provides for a vast array of sonic landscapes including once again the organ, complimented by complex drums and percussion. If classical music has a home in your record collection, check out The Synthonic Orchestra. MM
