earBuzz Review:
Music should tell a story. The telling can be expressed in unlimited ways: Lyrical content, melodic delivery or even the mere tonality of a song can speak volumes. Celtic music is steeped in tradition and its artists have incredible stories to tell, as the music is as old as the medium itself. Trinitude is a family trio, and what better way to both express and honor family traditions by playing together. Their unifying truth allows them to connect with limitless audiences. Old and young, rebellious and conservative, one listen to Trinitude and you know thereís a little bit of everything for everybody. The elders of the group: Merisa Donoghue and Les Tibbo (a.k.a. The Dirty Flannel Dawg, gotta love the nickname) have been writing and performing together for more than 30 years. The addition of daughter Emily Celeste in 05í brought both changes in appearance and outlook. The marriage works splendidly. "Greenest Day" paints images of endless Irish mountain tops with its warm guitar work and bellowing vocals. The folky and soul-searching "Lord Jesus" will please any fan of the O Brother Where Art Thou soundtrack. If acoustic music is your cup of tea, and you enjoy true Celtic sounds pick up Rooted. Trinitude will surely move you. MM
