Ioan Harea begins with the Handel-Halvorsen 'Passacaglia Duo for Violin and Viola, in his aptly names CD, "Versatility". Harea displays a passionate breath of instrumental movement during the piece. The allegro passages that hit around a minute eighteen in remind us of the Bach partitas. The record delights in track 6, the Allegro movement of Sonata #6 by Jean-Marie Leclair. Harea transforms the mood with the following Largo passage of the same piece. The delicate balance between the two violin parts are at once nurturing and co-responsive. The final track of 16 is "Introduzione e Balleto Fur Violine and Violoncello by Wolf-Ferrari. The depth of tone and slight dissonant resolutions are artistically presented that moves from the ears and travels to the emotional center. Very well done.
