Mr. Crow and Mr. Reed (aka Mr. Mention) have released a 14-track acoustic blues and folk singer/songwriter guitar based album recorded in and title, "Prague Sessions". The work within the record is a unique marriage of black blues passion and a Croce-like talent for story-based folk/blues songs. The musicians weave within each other's songs, adding harmonies, guitar parts, and even harmonica in track 11's, "I Pray For You", and the result is a compelling edgy Czech-republic recorded flow of Americana blues fusion. The tracks are bare and organic - the mastering and production is clean and present. Mr. Mention's vocals are animated and old-world crossroad blues inspired while singer/songwriter, Crowe, matches the timbre but with a New England travis picking charm. This is evident in the Gordon Lightfoot-esque, "Train to Charleston". Each artist brings their own written and sung pieces to the table however, the duo hits a high-point in the collaborative effort, "Over and Over" - Mr. Mention (aka Mr. Reed and/or Andrew Reed), provides his best vocal performance on the album with extended range, magical and inspirational phrasings - and our favorite on the record. The entire record is a tremendous recording achievement for the artists and the blues/folk genre. We look forward to more and are certain that the live show is worth double the ticket price.
